Collaborative Law

How Does Collaborative Law Work?

  • You and your ex-partner both retain your own collaboratively trained solicitor
  • You undertake four-way meetings between you, your solicitor, your ex-partner and their solicitor in order to discuss issues and find mutually acceptable solutions
  • A key difference from mediation is that you have your solicitor on hand in the meetings and they are able to offer you legal advice
  • Your solicitor is also able to put across your thoughts and speak on your behalf
  • Other professionals can also be part of your team and involved in the collaborative process such as a financial advisor, accountant or family counsellor

Justine Soper – Collaborative Solicitor

Justine is a fully trained and accredited Collaborative Solicitor. As such she is able to provide both expert legal advice and support to her clients during the collaborative process.

Some clients can, understandably, find it difficult to express their thoughts and proposals in a meeting with their ex-partner. This is where Justine’s role as your collaborative solicitor is invaluable as she is able to express opinions and proposals on your behalf.

Collaborative Law is a very supported way to reach an agreement with your ex-partner and Justine is very experienced in dealing with these types of discussions and providing the legal advice and guidance required.

Please do get in touch with Justine if you are considering a collaborative law resolution.
